Mokuton – Japanese Handbrush Font

Overview

Mokuton is a bold Japanese handbrush display font inspired by traditional brush lettering and modern expressive calligraphy. Its strong strokes, rough edges, organic curves, and natural ink flow create an authentic handcrafted appearance with a powerful contemporary character.

Designed to capture the dynamic movement of a real brush, Mokuton combines varying stroke thickness with organic imperfections and structured letterforms. This balance creates typography that feels artistic, energetic, and expressive while remaining highly effective for display applications.

Mokuton includes uppercase and lowercase characters, numbers, and punctuation, with multilingual support for flexible use across different projects. Its bold uppercase letters work especially well for headlines and titles, while the lowercase characters provide a more fluid handwritten rhythm.

Perfect for Japanese-inspired branding, Asian-inspired designs, streetwear, posters, packaging, food branding, ramen and sushi restaurant graphics, beverage packaging, apparel, album covers, merchandise, social media graphics, and modern calligraphy projects.
